St. Xavier’s School, Purulia is a High School from Nursery to Standard XII, an affiliated unit of the Jamshedpur Diocesan The school provides an excellent infrastructure, in all its aspects, to its students. A huge physical structure inhabits 41 spacious class rooms with administrative and staff blocks. The library provides textbooks, reference books, dictionaries, daily newspapers, periodicals, encyclopedias and the latest Encyclopedia – Britannica as well as, Computer Journals. A multi-media computer with Home Theatre is installed in the library to play variety-audio-visual-educational DVDs, for the benefit of staff and students, class-wise. The linking of the school library with the Tata Sky Satellite T.V. network to provide multimedia facility to the staff and students, is another feather in our cap. The three well-equipped science laboratories offer students opportunities to perform tests and experiments in Physics, Chemistry and Biology. The Digital Interactive Boards in the Pre-Primary Section and in science labs, computer lab, as well as, in language lab, are the latest additions to the infrastructure that facilitate the teaching-learning-process on par with the latest trend in education.
A large school playground, surrounded by scenic beauty, is an asset for games, sports, march-past, physical training and a healthy space, for a quite walk, with no external disturbance of noise and air-pollution.
A multipurpose Xavier Hallis well-equipped with multimedia facilities for varied activities of the school, such as, annual-prize night, different intra-mural and inter-school competitions, like debate, elocution, quiz, recitation and exhibitions. Moreover, all the Board Examinations as well as internal school examinations are conducted in the Hall.
In the event of any fire or accident, the school has in place safety measures, like fire extinguishers in sensitive places, like Library, Science Labs, Computer room,Corridors and for easy exit – wide verandahs and stair-cases. Besides this the physical safety of the students is the top priority of the school. In view of this, there is a security cover with CCTV in place.
In case of an electric failure, a 45 KVA DG set is installed in the premises for an emergency-electric-supply during the school hours. The school campus has a spacious Parking area for vehicles to transport students to and fro. Finally the curtsy HDFC Bank that collects tuition fees from 5th to 15th every month, in the school premises, during the school- hours.
St. Xavier’s School, Purulia, is affiliated to the Council for the Indian School Certificate Examination (CISCE), New Delhi, up to Std. XII. The Examination Board for class X is the Indian Certificate of Secondary Education (ICSE) since 2001 and the Examination Board for the class XII, is the Indian School Certificate (ISC), respectively, since 2006.
